Why download a Pakistan electricity bill app?

The CheckBills app stores your last bill locally, so you can check it even when the PITC portal is congested around the due date. Push notifications remind you of the due date before the Late Payment Surcharge (LPS)is added. And because the app keeps your reference number, you don't need to remember it every time.

The CheckBills app lets MEPCO consumers check their bill by reference number in seconds, download the duplicate PDF and pay through JazzCash, Easypaisa or any bank app.

LESCO bill check app — Lahore Electric Supply Company

LESCO consumers in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib can use the app to instantly retrieve their monthly electricity bill, compare units consumed from previous months and set reminders before the due date.

Safe, private, independent

FAQ

Common questions

Quick answers about bills, PITC, and how we help.

How do I check my electricity bill online in Pakistan?

Open CheckBills.pk, enter your 10–14 digit reference number from your printed bill, choose your DISCO (e.g. MEPCO for Multan, LESCO for Lahore, FESCO for Faisalabad), and click Check Bill. Your official duplicate bill loads instantly from the PITC portal. No login required.

Is CheckBills.pk free to use?

Yes, completely free. There is no login, subscription, or hidden charge. You only need your reference number and an internet connection.

Which electricity companies are supported on CheckBills.pk?

All 11 major DISCOs: MEPCO (Multan/South Punjab), LESCO (Lahore), FESCO (Faisalabad), IESCO (Islamabad/Rawalpindi), GEPCO (Gujranwala), PESCO (Peshawar/KPK), HESCO (Hyderabad/Sindh), SEPCO (Sukkur/Upper Sindh), QESCO (Quetta/Balochistan), TESCO (Tribal Districts), and HAZECO (Hazara/Abbottabad).

Where is my reference number on my electricity bill?

Your reference number is printed at the top of every electricity bill, labelled 'Reference No.' or 'Consumer Reference'. It is 10–14 digits long and stays the same unless your meter or account changes.

Is the duplicate bill on CheckBills.pk official?

Yes. The bill data is fetched live from the official PITC portal (bill.pitc.com.pk) — the same source your DISCO uses. We display it without modifying any line items. Always verify the amount before paying.

Do you store my bill or reference number?

No account is required. Your reference number is sent to PITC to render the bill in your browser session. We do not store it on our servers. Treat your reference number like a sensitive utility account identifier.

Can I pay my bill on CheckBills.pk?

No — CheckBills.pk is a bill viewing tool only. To pay, use JazzCash, Easypaisa, your bank app, ATM, or any authorized payment counter with your reference number.

What if my bill does not load?

Verify your reference number matches your printed bill, retry after a minute, or try another network connection. The PITC server is a government portal and may be slow during peak times. For wrong readings, contact your DISCO directly.

Can I use a duplicate bill for a bank, landlord, or NADRA?

Many institutions accept an official PITC duplicate or PDF printout. Requirements vary by institution — confirm with them before submitting.

Does CheckBills.pk work on mobile phones?

Yes. The site is fully mobile-responsive. You can also download the free CheckBills Android app from Google Play (package: pk.checkbills.app) for all 11 DISCOs plus SNGPL gas bills.

Does CheckBills.pk support K-Electric (Karachi) bills?

No. K-Electric (KE) is not part of the PITC system. Karachi residents should check their KE bill at ke.com.pk using their 13-digit consumer number. K-Electric customer care: 118 (emergency) or 021-99008.

How do I check my K-Electric bill online?

Visit ke.com.pk — K-Electric's own portal — and enter your 13-digit consumer number. K-Electric (formerly KESC) serves Karachi, Hub (Lasbela), and parts of Sindh/Balochistan. It is not connected to the PITC system used by the other 11 DISCOs.

How do I check my SNGPL gas bill online?

Visit the official Sui Northern Gas Pipelines portal at sngpl.com.pk and enter your 11-digit SNGPL consumer number (printed on any gas bill). SNGPL serves Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. CheckBills.pk covers electricity bills only.

What is the difference between SNGPL and SSGC?

SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipelines) covers Punjab and KPK. SSGC (Sui Southern Gas Company) covers Sindh and Balochistan. If you are in Karachi or Sindh, your gas provider is SSGC. SSGC bills are checked at ssgc.com.pk.

What is the SNGPL consumer number format?

SNGPL consumer numbers are exactly 11 digits. They are printed on your gas bill or SMS alerts. This is different from electricity reference numbers (10–14 digits).

What is FPA on my electricity bill?

FPA stands for Fuel Price Adjustment. It is a monthly variable surcharge (or occasional credit) determined by NEPRA, reflecting changes in power generation fuel costs (furnace oil, coal, LNG). FPA is the primary reason your bill amount changes month-to-month even when your unit consumption is stable.

What are slab rates on a Pakistan electricity bill?

Slab rates are a tiered pricing structure: as your monthly kilowatt-hours increase, the rate per unit rises in steps. Domestic slabs typically run: 0–50, 51–100, 101–200, 201–300, 301–500, 501–700, and 700+ units. Staying in a lower slab reduces your average cost per unit significantly.

What is a protected consumer in Pakistan electricity?

A protected (lifeline) consumer is a residential electricity user consuming 200 units (kWh) or fewer per month. Protected consumers qualify for subsidized slab rates under NEPRA policy, paying substantially less per unit than unprotected consumers.

What is TRS on my electricity bill?

TRS (Tariff Rationalization Surcharge) is a fixed government levy added to electricity bills to balance the uniform national power rate across regions with different generation costs. It appears as a line item alongside GST and FPA.

What are peak hours for electricity in Pakistan?

For consumers with TOU (Time-of-Use) smart meters, peak hours are typically 7 PM to 11 PM, when electricity rates are highest. Off-peak hours apply at all other times. Shifting heavy appliances (ACs, irons, washing machines) to off-peak periods reduces bills for TOU users.

What is LPS (Late Payment Surcharge)?

LPS (Late Payment Surcharge) is a penalty charged when you pay your electricity bill after the due date. Your bill shows both the amount due (within the grace period) and the amount after due date (with LPS added).

What is meter rent on an electricity bill?

Meter rent is a recurring monthly charge for the physical electricity meter installation, where applicable. It appears as a separate line item and is charged regardless of units consumed.

How do I pay my electricity bill using JazzCash?

Open the JazzCash app, tap 'Bill Payment', select your DISCO (e.g. MEPCO, LESCO), enter your reference number, confirm the amount, and pay. You can also dial *786# and follow the USSD prompts. Keep your reference number and the transaction ID as proof.

How do I pay my electricity bill using Easypaisa?

Open the Easypaisa app, choose 'Pay Bills', select your DISCO, enter your reference number, confirm the amount, and complete payment. You can also pay via *786# USSD without a smartphone.

How do I register for the Cross Subsidy Program in Pakistan?

Registration is handled entirely on the government portal at css.pitc.com.pk: enter your electricity reference number, fill in your details, complete OTP verification, and submit. Eligible protected consumers (≤200 units/month) are registered for the subsidized tariff.

Who qualifies for the electricity subsidy in Pakistan?

Residential consumers using 200 units (kWh) or fewer per month qualify as 'protected consumers' under NEPRA's policy. They receive subsidized slab rates. The Cross Subsidy Scheme (CSS) at css.pitc.com.pk handles formal registration.

How do I file an electricity complaint in Pakistan?

Contact your DISCO's helpline printed on your bill. For unresolved issues, escalate to PMDU (Power Management & Development Unit) or NEPRA's consumer complaint portal. CheckBills.pk cannot file complaints on your behalf — we are an independent bill viewing tool.

How do I apply for a new electricity connection in Pakistan?

Apply online through enc.pitc.com.pk (Electronic New Connection portal). Select your DISCO, fill the application form, upload documents, and track status.

What is net metering in Pakistan?

NEPRA net metering allows rooftop solar PV system owners to export surplus electricity to the DISCO grid, offsetting import consumption. You need a NEPRA-licensed net metering system and a bidirectional (green) meter from your DISCO. Application rules and licensed installers are published by NEPRA and AEDB (aedb.gov.pk).

Is there an app to check electricity bills in Pakistan?

Yes — the free CheckBills Android app (pk.checkbills.app on Google Play) supports all 11 DISCOs, SNGPL gas bills, an electricity bill calculator, PDF download, and due-date reminders. No login required.

Is CheckBills.pk affiliated with WAPDA or my DISCO?

No. CheckBills.pk is an independent consumer tool. We access the official PITC portal on your behalf but are not affiliated with WAPDA, NEPRA, PITC, any DISCO, or the Government of Pakistan. For formal disputes, use your DISCO's official channels.

How do I reduce my electricity bill in Pakistan?

Use energy-efficient appliances (inverter ACs, LED bulbs), shift heavy loads to off-peak hours if you have a TOU meter, monitor your monthly units to stay in lower slab tiers, consider rooftop solar with net metering, and avoid the Late Payment Surcharge by paying on time. See /blog/how-to-reduce-electricity-bill-pakistan for detailed tips.

Where can I read guides about electricity bills and payments in Pakistan?

The CheckBills.pk blog (/blog) covers FPA, slab rates, JazzCash/Easypaisa payment, reading your bill, reducing costs, solar, and more. The resources hub (/resources) has customer care contacts and a power sector overview.
